If you're an angler looking for an effective way to catch carp, making your own boilies can be a great option. With just a few ingredients, you can create a bait that's customised to your preferences and more appealing to the fish you're targeting. In this guide, we'll show you how to make homemade boilies using a simple recipe that can be easily adapted to suit your needs.

Ingredients and Proportions

Before we get started, let's review the ingredients and proportions you'll need:

  • 600g semolina and soya 50/50 base mix
  • 200g CL or CC Mars herring meal
  • 16g Robin Red (used in a 1kg mix, but 5-7g recommended)
  • 10 eggs
  • 8ml pure krill liquid by Sticky

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the semolina and soya 50/50 base mix, CL or CC Mars herring meal, and Robin Red. Mix well to ensure that the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Crack the eggs into a separate bowl and beat them thoroughly.
  3. Add the beaten eggs to the dry ingredients and mix until the dough is firm and pliable.
  4. Add the pure krill liquid by Sticky to the dough and knead it in thoroughly.
  5. Once the dough is well mixed, roll it into small balls or cylindrical shapes, depending on your preference. The size of the boilies can vary, but aim for a diameter of about 16-18mm.
  6. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the boilies. Boil them for about 2-3 minutes or until they rise to the surface of the water. This will help to harden the outer layer of the boilies and create a more durable bait.
  7. Remove the boilies from the water and let them dry on a towel or paper towel for a few hours or until they are completely dry.

That's it! With these simple steps, you can make your own homemade boilies that are sure to attract the attention of carp and other fish. Don't be afraid to experiment with different ingredients and proportions to find the perfect combination that works for you. Happy fishing!
