Creedy Lakes (Crediton)
Creedy Lakes is a serene fishing spot located in Sandford, just a mile away from Crediton. The complex boasts two lakes nestled in 14 acres of unspoilt woodland. The top lake serves as a stock pond where fishing is not permitted. The main lake, which is 4.5 acres in size and spring-fed, is located next to the car park. It features a clay bottom, is triangular in shape, and has a central island along with two additional islands towards the corners. Depths vary from 2.5ft-13ft with an average of around 5ft-6ft.
There are 23 pegs available, including 2 double pegs, with the most popular spots being beside the boathouse and the pegs at the far end of the right-hand bank. Boilies, especially pop-ups and wafters, tend to be successful baits. Shellfish, Krill, Cell, and Pineapple flavors are the go-to options for anglers.
The lake is home to common carp, mirrors, and upper-double figure koi carp. Most fish in the lake are mid/upper double figures, with a significant number of fish exceeding 20lb and the lake record carp, weighing over 30lb.

Snails Lake is the larger of the two, covering around 5 acres. There are 17 pegs in total, but a maximum of 13 are booked at one time to reduce angler pressure and allow movement between pegs. With over 200 carp in the lake, almost 50% of them exceed 20lb, and the lake record carp weighed over 34lb.
Persey’s Pool is the newer lake, dug in 2011, and covers 4 acres. There are ten double pegs available, with only nine being bookable at any given time. The smaller number of pegs is intentional and helps to maintain a healthy growth rate for the lake's approximately 140 carp. Although the lake record currently stands in the high 20's, it's expected that the 30lb barrier will be surpassed soon.
Both lakes feature several gravel bars, silt patches, lily pads, overhanging trees, and multiple islands. On-site amenities include toilets with handwashing facilities and a vending machine that dispenses the Digger Lakes Fishery pellet for £2 per kilo.
